May was born in Scotland but emigrated with her family to Canada, then settled in Spring Lake NJ at the age of 14. As she says, “Irish by ancestry, Scot by birth and American by choice.”
She graduated from Monmouth University with a B.A., taught school for several years and embarked on a round-the-world journey before marrying Vincent in 1968.
While raising their four children, she enjoyed being a stay-at-home mother. While being an active volunteer in their schools and her community, she helped establish the “Arts in Education” program for the local school system. Once the family was raised, she returned to C.W.Post, Long Island University, where she received a Master in Library Science degree.
May and Vincent split their time between Sailfish Point and Huntington Bay, New York. They enjoy supporting their favorite organizations, but even more, love spending time with their family and twelve grandchildren.
